Mount Maunganui is in the Bay of Plenty, a five minute drive from Tauranga. It is 2.5 hours drive south from Auckland on the East Coast. Mount Maunganui is a  great place to base yourself with Rotorua 45 minutes south, and the Coromandel a few hours drive north.
